Three Saudi clubs register interest in Super Eagles star who 'has been sensational in pre-season'

According to reports, there is a possibility of William Troost-Ekong departing Greek champions PAOK in the summer transfer window.
A journalist from BBC Africa, Oluwashina Okeleji is reporting that three unnamed Saudi Arabian clubs have registered their interest in Troost-Ekong, who 'has been sensational in pre-season with Greek champions PAOK'.
The Tottenham Hotspur academy product has returned to full fitness after picking up an injury at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
Troost-Ekong managed to play through the pain barrier during the tournament in Ivory Coast and was decisive for the Super Eagles, netting three goals in six appearances.
The veteran center-back was recognised for his outstanding performance, with the Confederation of African Football picking him as the Most Valuable Player of the 2023 AFCON.
Last week, Troost-Ekong scored an important winning goal as PAOK defeated Bosnian club FK Borac Banja Luka 3-2 in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League - his first goal for the club in twenty-three appearances.
The Saudi Pro League has become a key player in the transfer market, attracting several prominent African stars such as Riyad Mahrez, Franck Kessié, Edouard Mendy, Sadio Mané, Seko Fofana and Kalidou Koulibaly.
Nigeria internationals Odion Ighalo (Al Wehda), Henry Onyekuru (Al Fayha) and Saviour Godwin (Al Okhdood) played for Saudi Arabian clubs last season.
Watford, Udinese and KAA Gent alum Troost-Ekong has a contract with PAOK until the end of the 2025-2026 season.
