Arsenal interested in Anglo-Nigerian striker who is also wanted by Tottenham Hotspur
Published: August 03, 2024
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Super Eagles-eligible forward Dominic Solanke, who is also on the radar of north London rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
As reported by CaughtOffside, the Gunners are interested in the Bournemouth forward as an alternative to Viktor Gyökeres.
Arsenal are in search of a striker and had explored a move for Benjamin Šeško who decided to extend his stay at RB Leipzig rather than join the English outfit.
Having missed out on Šeško, they shifted focus to Gyökeres but it appears that they will be priced out of a move for the Swedish striker.
Sporting CP are said to be demanding a huge fee for the 26-year-old, a valuation which the north London side have found excessive and are now exploring alternatives.
This is the reason behind their reported interest in Solanke who was one of the most outstanding strikers in the Premier League last season.
The Anglo-Nigerian forward scored 20 goals and three assists across all competitions for the Cherries last term and is now deemed good enough to don the shirt of a Premier League side like Arsenal.
With competition from Tottenham, Mikel Arteta's side will have to move quickly and swiftly to beat their city rivals to the signing of the former England youth international.
