No going back: Genoa agree deal to sign Ifenna, younger brother of Lecce LB Patrick Dorgu
Published: August 20, 2024According to Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, Italian top division club Genoa are on the brink of announcing the signing of Ifenna Udogu, the younger brother of popular Lecce fullback Patrick Dorgu.
Ifenna is set to join his sibling in the Serie A, with Romano revealing on Tuesday morning that Genoa have agreed a deal to sign the forward for their academy team.
The younger Dorgu has been on the books of Danish 1st Division club HB Køge since 2019 after transferring from Gentofte VI, rising through the youth team ranks to make his senior debut in a Cup game against Taarnby FF in August 2023.
Still only 17, he has appeared in thirty-five matches in all competitions for the first team of HB Koge and has five goals to his name.
According to Danish football website bold.dk, HB Køge and Genoa are in the process of finalizing the details of an agreement that will send the striker to Genoa on a season-long loan.
The loan agreement will also contain various clauses which - if fulfilled - activate a permanent transfer to the Serie A club.
Ifenna is set to emulate his elder brother Patrick Dorgu who switched from FC Nordsjælland to Serie A club Lecce two years ago.
After spending time with Lecce's youth team, Patrick was promoted to the first team on a permanent basis last season.
