Lookman resumes training with Atalanta after missing Serie A opener at Lecce
Published: August 22, 2024
According to Sky Sports via Tuttomercatoweb, Ademola Lookman has resumed training with Atalanta after a few days of unrest about his future.
The Super Eagles forward was linked with Paris Saint-Germain and was attracted by the prospect of joining the French giants.
He missed Atalanta's Serie A opener against Lecce on Monday, with reports stating that he wanted to leave the UEFA Europa League champions.
However, it has been garnered that PSG don't have concrete interest in his services and that may have now informed the 26-year-old's decision to resume training.
As gathered by Tuttomercatoweb, Lookman's representative has had a meeting with Atalanta to resolve the differences, a result of which saw the forward rejoin his teammates ahead of their Serie A clash against Torino.
It now remains to be seen whether La Dea will offer the Nigerian forward a new contract with an increased salary to keep at the club as long as possible.
The former Charlton Athletic youngster moved to Atalanta in 2022 and has been a mainstay as well as a key player for the Serie A outfit.
He wrote his name in the sands of history of the club by netting a hat-trick in the final of the Europa League last season, thereby helping the Italian side to scoop their first ever European trophy.
