Confirmed: Udinese and 2013 U17 Afcon top scorer Isaac Success mutually terminate contract
Published: August 27, 2024
Through a press release published on the official website, Italian Serie A club Udinese have announced that it has reached and signed an agreement for the mutual termination of the contract with Isaac Success.
The 2013 U17 Africa Cup of Nations top scorer with seven goals returned for a second spell at the Bianconeri in the summer of 2021 from Watford.
Success did not participate in Udinese's first three competitive matches of the new season, an indication that he is surplus to requirements.
The BJ Foundation academy product is leaving Udinese after logging 83 appearances in all competitions, including 41 starts in the Italian top flight.
In 3,866 minutes of action spread across three seasons, Success registered 23 goal involvements (6 goals, 17 assists).
Udinese have been busy in the summer transfer window, bringing in Lorenzo Lucca, Damián Pizarro, Iker Bravo and Alexis Sánchez and the arrivals of the quartet pushed Success further down the pecking order of forwards.
After representing Nigeria extensively at youth level, Success made his senior debut in an international friendly against Senegal in London back in March 2017.
Due to a loss of form and injuries, he has not been invited to the Super Eagles since earning his fourth cap in a friendly with Uganda in 2018.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, Success played on loan at Malaga in the second half of the 2017-2018 season and has also worn the colours of Granada.
