Official: Three years after leaving Chelsea, Moses returns to English football with Luton Town

With an official statement on their official website, Luton Town have confirmed the signing of former Chelsea star and Nigeria international Victor Moses.

The former Super Eagles’ forward move to the Hatters marks his return to English Football after three years of leaving Chelsea to join Russian side Spartak Moscow.

Moses was a key player in the last Chelsea side to win the Premier League, registering six goal involvements in 34 matches in the division, thriving in a new wing-back role under manager Antonio Conte in the 2016-2017 season.

Spartak Moscow had announced the departure of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner in the summer which made him become a free agent.

The Hatters have now snapped the versatile 33-year-old forward on a permanent deal, with the club seeking to make a return to the Premier League, a year after their demotion to the Championship.

Moses has experience playing in the English second-tier division, which should come in handy for Rob Edwards’ side in their bid to regain promotion to the English topflight.

He made 58 appearances in the Championship during his stint with Crystal Palace, scoring 11 goals and notching six assists before moving to Wigan Athletic.

In his final season at Spartak Moscow, he was able to muster 16 appearances in the Russian top flight, scoring one goal.
