Nottingham Forest set their sights on signing winger eligible for Nigeria, three other countries
Published: September 27, 2024Premier League club Nottingham Forest are being linked with a move for Burnley's quad-national player Luca Koleosho.
Born in Norwalk, Connecticut, he qualifies to play for the senior national teams of the United States, and Nigeria via his father, and for Canada and Italy through his mother.
Football Insider has reported that Nottingham Forest have set their sights on signing Burnley winger Luca Koleosho.
Forest's Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers were interested in bringing Koleosho to the Molineux Stadium in the summer transfer window but were priced out of a move.
Burnley put a price tag of 40 million pounds on the Italian-Nigerian-Canadian-American forward after he signed a fresh five-year contract earlier this month.
Nottingham Forest have identified Koleosho as a potential replacement for Sweden forward Anthony Elanga, who attracted interest from Newcastle United in the summer window.
The Nigeria-eligible player has a bit of Premier League experience, making fifteen appearances and scoring one goal before a knee injury ruled him out for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.
A move for the winger in the January transfer window seems improbable, with a potential transfer more likely to happen in next summer.
The 20-year-old has started all but one of the matches contested by the Clarets in the Championship this term and has two goals to his name.
A member of the Italy squad that won the 2023 European U19 Championship, he joined Burnley after the tournament in Malta.
