Nantes' record-breaking forward Moses Simon named in Ligue 1 Team of the Month
Published: September 30, 2024Record-breaking Nantes forward Moses Simon has been named in Whoscored.com's Ligue 1 Team of the Month for September 2024.
The Super Eagles star grabbed an assist in the Yellow Canaries’ 1-1 draw with Angers SCO on September 22 to become the club's record assist maker in the French top-flight.
Courtesy of his assist in the fixture, he took his tally to 29, thereby overtaking Emiliano Sala as the player with the most assists since the club's promotion to the Ligue 1 in 2013.
The 29-year-old was also in a rich vein of form in August, scoring two goals to help Nantes get back-to-back wins after they opened the campaign with a draw against Toulouse.
Simon has been able to maintain his impressive start to the season this month, recording two assists in three games, only failing to register a goal contribution against Saint-Étienne last weekend at the Stade de la Beaujoire—Louis Fonteneau.
He earned a rating of 7.73, making him the fourth highest-rated player in the team, which has OGC Nice with the most representatives with four players, AS Monaco with two, Paris Saint-Germain, Stade de Reims, Olympique Marseille, Nantes and RC Strasbourg with one apiece.
