'Will deliver at Chelsea' - Former teammate rates Osimhen's chances of making it in Premier League
Published: October 09, 2024
Former Golden Eaglets forward Kehinde Ayinde has expressed his belief that Victor Osimhen has the potential to thrive at Chelsea if he were to make the move at the end of the current season.
Ayinde shared his thoughts on Osimhen's chances of success in the Premier League, should he depart Napoli.
The Super Eagles striker was linked with moves to PSG, Chelsea, and Al-Ahli before ultimately joining Galatasaray on a season-long loan.
Osimhen has been in impressive form since his loan move to Galatasaray, having scored two goals and provided four assists in all competitions.
The Nigerian forward's impressive form has led to speculation about a potential transfer to various clubs in the upcoming January transfer window.
In an interview with allnigeriasoccer.com, Kehinde voiced his belief in Osimhen's capabilities to shine at Chelsea.
Having been teammates with Osimhen during their time in the Golden Eaglets, Kehinde praised his character and expressed confidence that he will succeed in any European team he joins.
"I think Oshimen will deliver at Chelsea or any team that sign him because I always know him as a fighter right from our humble beginning," Ayinde stated.
Ayinde pointed out Osimhen's accomplishments at Napoli, where he secured the top goalscorer award and helped the team clinch the Scudetto in 2023.
"And you can see he succeeded in one of the tough leagues, I mean Italy and he succeeded despite the tough defenders.
"He went there and won the highest goalscorer award which shows that he can play and succeed. He has started his magic in Galatasaray as well."
Ayinde and Victor Osimhen were teammates in both the Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles teams.
Despite scoring several goals for the Golden Eaglets, the 26-year-old Kehinde was unable to participate in the 2015 FIFA U17 World Cup, a tournament that announced Osimhen to the football world.
