Princess Ademiluyi: Super Falcons-eligible forward bags brace of assists on debut for Young Lionesses
Published: October 26, 2024
West Ham United loanee Princess Ademiluyi had a dream debut for the Young Lionesses as England U19s defeated the Netherlands 3-1 in their first game of the Algarve Cup on Friday afternoon.
The Charlton Athletic forward, who is eligible to represent Nigeria's Super Falcons through her parents, received her first call-up to the Young Lionesses for the internationals in October.
Ademiluyi has opted to represent England over Nigeria at international level for the time being, having linked up with the Young Lionesses squad before their trip to Portugal.
Sporting number 9 on the back of her jersey, she was named in the starting lineup against the Netherlands and was in action for 77 minutes before making way for Arsenal's Jessie Gale.
After Maddy Earl's fifth minute opener, the Young Lionesses doubled the advantage in the tenth minute when Lexi Potter slotted home after she was set up by Ademiluyi.
Ademiluyi was the provider again as England established a three-goal lead in the 34th minute when her pass diverted to Earl, allowing her to finish the move.
The dual-national forward was called up to the England squad for the first time ahead of round one of the qualifiers for the 2025 UEFA Women's Under-19 Championship in November.
Ademiluyi will be provisionally cap-tied to England should she make an appearance for the Young Lionesses next month.
