Genk's Arokodare honoured by praise from scorer of most beautiful goal of all time in Belgian league

Racing Genk striker Tolu Arokodare, continues to make waves in the Jupiler Pro League, leading his team to a convincing 0-2 victory over AA Gent on Sunday.
This win solidifies Genk's position as league leaders, with Arokodare retaining his top scorer title.
The 23-year-old's impressive performance, which included scoring a goal and earning a penalty, has caught the attention of scorer of the most beautiful goal of all time in the Belgian league, Wesley Sonck.
Sonck, who had initially criticized Arokodare's early-season performance, now praises the Nigerian striker's growth.
In an interview with Belgian outlet Het Laatste Nieuws via Voetbalnieuws, Arokodare expressed gratitude for Sonck's recognition, whilst also highlighting his determination to continue improving.
"At first, he wasn't happy with my performance, but I really appreciate it. He noticed that I'm doing better now," Tolu said.
That a legend of the club says something like that gives me a boost. Next week, I want to do even better."
Looking ahead to Genk's next league match against Antwerp, the striker acknowledges the significance of the upcoming encounter, referencing Genk's 2023 title match against Antwerp.
"Antwerp remains special to us, but as always, we will rely on our own strength. I also believe that I have a decent balance against them."
The former Fc Köln marksman's growth and confidence have been evident in recent matches.
For the second consecutive week, he earned a penalty, demonstrating his ability to create scoring opportunities.
His goal-scoring consistency has been crucial to Genk's success so far this term.
Yesterday's goal meant that the Lagos-born striker has now taken his tally 9 goal contributions (8 goals and one assist) in 12 league appearances for Genk so far this season.
