Fulham coach reacts to second single released by history-making Premier League midfielder Iwobi
Published: November 01, 2024
Fulham coach Marco Silva was on media duties on Friday to preview his side's Premier League side with local rivals Brentford, and one of the topics he touched on was Alex Iwobi's recently released second single, 'What's Luv?'.
According to The BBC, the Nigeria international made history earlier this year by becoming the first Premier League footballer to have a single released, with his debut song 'Don't Shoot'.
Iwobi previously stated that music has long been a passion and a means of expressing himself beyond football.
The Nigeria international considers it a powerful tool, regularly using it as a positive outlet for his emotions.
Setting himself apart from any Premier League player before him, he has released music with his own name and image, embracing the chance to be unique and make a difference.
Through his music, Iwobi hopes to prove that young people don’t have to confine themselves to just one role.
When asked about Iwobi's song in his press conference, Silva hailed the Super Eagles midfielder for being talented
though the Portuguese tactician admitted he hasn't had a chance to hear the song himself.
"I haven’t listened to it! The boys were talking about it in the gym. He has a lot of talent, I'm sure it's very good!"
Iwobi's famous uncle, Austin Okocha similarly released a song during his playing days, 'I I Am Am J J'.
If Iwobi plays on Monday night against the Bees at Craven Cottage, it would be his 263rd appearance in the Premier League since making his debut in the division against Swansea City in October 2015.
