Ebenezer Akinsanmiro: Agent backs former Real Madrid target to break into Inter Milan first team
Published: November 04, 2024Cescenzo Cecere, the agent of rising Nigerian midfielder Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, has expressed confidence that the talented youngster will soon break into Inter Milan's first team.
Akinsanmiro, who joined Inter in the winter transfer window of 2023 on a four-year contract, has been making waves since his arrival after two impressive years with Nigeria Premier Football League side Remo Stars.
Upon joining the Italian giants, Akinsanmiro initially played for the U-19 squad, but he made his first-team debut in a commanding 4-0 victory against Lecce on February 25, 2024.
Seeking more playing time and experience at a higher level, he subsequently joined Serie B club Sampdoria on a season-long loan, which included an option to buy and a buy-back clause in favor of Inter Milan.
Since his loan to Sampdoria, Akinsanmiro has shown great promise, featuring in 14 matches across all competitions and scoring once in a thrilling 5-3 win over Cesena in Serie B.
In an interview with Tuttomercatoweb, Cecere discussed Akinsanmiro's future at Inter Milan, highlighting the club's optimism about the young midfielder's potential.
He noted that Inter, having beaten several top clubs, including Real Madrid and Benfica, to secure Akinsanmiro's signature, have high expectations of him and are monitoring his progress.
"He's doing very well," Cecere remarked, reflecting on Akinsanmiro's progress at Sampdoria. "The team started out struggling at first," he noted. "But with Andrea Sottil as coach, they're getting back."
Cecere added, "Inter are following his progress. We hope that he can play for the Nerazzurri soon."
