'He's doing a great job' - Bayer Leverkusen captain happy with Schick's form in Boniface's absence
Published: December 01, 2024
Bayern Leverkusen's captain Lukas Hradecky, has lauded Patrik Schick's recent performance following Victor Boniface's injury.
Since Boniface was sidelined in November, Schick has stepped up significantly, showcasing his talent by netting five goals in just three matches across all competitions.
The Nigerian forward Boniface has been sidelined since early November due to a thigh injury sustained during an international match against Rwanda.
The injury has kept him out of the last three games, raising concerns about his availability for the remainder of the year.
In a post-match interview following Leverkusen's 2-1 victory over Union Berlin, Hradecky was full of praise for Schick, highlighting the importance of both players to the team's success.
"Boniface and Schick are both important for the team. I'm happy for both of them when they score - and right now it's Patrik's turn. He's doing a great job up front." Hradecky stated.
Before his injury, Boniface had established himself as a key contributor for Leverkusen, scoring eight goals and providing one assist in fifteen appearances.
As Schick aims to maintain his excellent form and establish himself as a regular starter for the club, Boniface will be eager to recover from his injury and regain his place in the team.
