'That is a great finish' - Former Liverpool goalkeeper lauds Ola Aina for fantastic goal v Brentford
Published: December 21, 2024
Former Liverpool goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis has commended Nigerian defender Ola Aina for the remarkable accuracy of his goal against Brentford.
Aina found the back of the net in the 38th minute, putting his team ahead in a decisive 2-0 win against Brentford on Saturday evening at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Super Eagles defender expertly converted a cross from Williams on the right flank, showcasing his composure as he slotted the ball home after Woods misjudged his attempt to head the ball.
In the second half, Elenga extended the visitors' advantage by driving into the box and placing the ball into the bottom left corner.
Brown-Finnis, analyzing the goal on Final Score, praised Aina for both his execution and the decision-making that led to the goal.
"Fantastic finish from Aina but also a fantastic decision for Wood to let it run from Williams' cross," ex-Liverpool goalkeeper Rachel Brown-Finnis said on Final Score.
"He directs it back across the goalkeeper into the bottom corner and that is a great finish.
Aina has emerged as a standout performer for Nottingham Forest this season, netting two goals in seventeen Premier League matches.
His exceptional performance has propelled the team into contention for the league title and a spot in the UEFA Champions League.
As it stands, Nottingham Forest are currently in third place in the standings with 31 points, edging out Arsenal, who have 30 points, ahead of their upcoming match against Crystal Palace.
