Published: January 10, 2025
Former Atalanta midfielder, Roberto Rambaudi, has urged Lazio to strengthen their midfield options with the addition of a Nigerian-eligible defensive midfielder during the winter transfer window.
Speaking in an interview on Radiosei, the 58-year-old former Italian footballer suggested that the Serie A club target Faustino Anjorin who he believes possess the qualities needed to fit into Lazio's playing style.
Rambaudi highlighted that Anjorin has already made a mark in the Italian top-flight, showcasing attributes that would align with Lazio's tactical needs.
"It depends on the money," Rambaudi commented on the potential deals. "Anjorin from Empoli and Sohm are profiles that I would see good at Lazio."
Anjorin, who joined Empoli last summer from Chelsea, has impressed in Serie A with his ability to operate in multiple midfield positions.
The 23-year-old has registered three assists in 15 league appearances, demonstrating his versatility and creativity.
Rambaudi also praised Simon Sohm, who has been making waves in the Serie A with Parma.
The 23-year-old has netted three goals in 19 league appearances for his current club and is also capable of playing in various midfield positions.
Additionally, Rambaudi suggested Lazio could benefit from signing Jacopo Fazzini, a 21-year-old midfielder from Empoli, who shares similar attributes with Anjorin.
"Fazzini? At the moment I would take him because he is an important prospect but also a player with the characteristics of Anjorin."
With Lazio keen to bolster their midfield options in the winter transfer window, Rambaudi's suggestions will certainly fuel speculation surrounding potential moves for Anjorin, Sohm, and Fazzini.
