'He received information from Osimhen' - Pundit makes big claim about Galatasaray's interest in Aina
Published: January 11, 2025
Turkish journalist Mehmet Özcan has shed light on the growing speculations linking Nigerian fullback Ola Aina to Turkish giants Galatasaray, crediting Victor Osimhen's influence in the potential move.
Aina, who has been a standout performer for Nottingham Forest in the Premier League, has impressed with his defensive prowess and offensive contributions.
The Nigerian international has scored two goals in 20 league appearances this season, showcasing his versatility and impact on both ends of the pitch.
However, with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, Aina will become a free agent in the summer if he doesn’t sign a new deal, allowing him to join any club of his choice.
His contract situation has attracted interest from top European clubs, including Manchester City and Galatasaray, as the Turkish side seeks a replacement for Elias Jelert next season.
Providing an update on the situation, Özcan, speaking to Sabah via Habersarikirmizi, claimed that Aina is open to a move to Galatasaray and has even sought insights from fellow Nigerian international Victor Osimhen, who has been making headlines in Istanbul.
"He received information from Osimhen about Galatasaray, the conditions will be difficult, he is positive about wearing the Galatasaray jersey"," Özcan stated.
If the transfer materializes, it is expected to significantly bolster Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk's squad depth and defensive capabilities for the upcoming season.
