'Will make serious contributions' - Turkish pundit urges Galatasaray to sign Super Eagles RB Osayi-Samuel
Published: January 17, 2025
Turkish football pundit Ali Ece has called on Galatasaray to pursue a move for Bright Osayi-Samuel, the Nigeria international right-back currently with Fenerbahçe, as the club seeks to strengthen its squad for the second half of the season.
Osayi-Samuel, whose contract with Fenerbahçe is set to expire this summer, has attracted interest from multiple European clubs.
The 27-year-old has been an integral part of Fenerbahçe's squad under head coach José Mourinho, making 21 appearances across all competitions this season, which underscores his importance to the team.
Osayi-Samuel was previously linked with a transfer to Galatasaray but it appears there is no substance to the rumors, as both the defender and the club have dismissed the reports.
Speaking on the Vole YouTube channel via habersarikirmizi, Ali Ece shared his thoughts on the speculation surrounding Osayi-Samuel's future, suggesting that the Nigerian international would be a valuable addition to Galatasaray.
"I think that Trabzonspor's Eren Elmalı and Osayi-Samuel, whose contract is about to expire, will make serious contributions if they come to Galatasaray," Ece said.
"Galatasaray is currently very far ahead in the championship race and if they do not make any mistakes until the derby, it seems that there may be an even bigger gap between them and Fenerbahçe."
As Galatasaray looks to consolidate its position at the top of the Turkish Süper Lig, adding players like Osayi-Samuel could help strengthen their squad and ensure they maintain their momentum heading into next season.
The former Queens Park Rangers man has six goals and eight assists in 107 games in the Super Lig since landing in Turkey in January 2021.
