Three attack-minded Nigerian players take part in Arsenal's final training session pre-Dinamo Zagreb
Published: January 22, 2025
Talented forward Andre Harriman-Annous was one of three young players of Nigerian descent who trained with the first team on the eve of Arsenal's matchday seven league phase fixture against Dinamo Zagreb in the UEFA Champions League, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
Manager Mikel Arteta monitored U18 striker Harriman-Annous and development squad forward Nathan Butler-Oyedeji during Tuesday's workout at Sobha Realty Training Centre in Shenley.
Attacking midfielder Ethan Nwaneri also trained with the first team, having recovered from a muscle injury that sidelined him for four consecutive games, and is expected to be named in the matchday squad to face Dinamo Zagreb.
The aforementioned attack-minded players of Nigerian descent have been registered on Arsenal's B list for the Champions League as they were born after January 1, 2023.
Nwaneri has featured in three Champions League matches this season, Butler-Oyedeji was part of the squad for the first four games while Harriman-Annous is still awaiting a call-up to the first team.
Hale End Academy graduates Nwaneri and Butler-Oyedeji have risen in the pecking order of forwards with Bukayo Saka not available for selection after undergoing hamstring surgery.
Butler-Oyedeji and Harriman-Annous have been making waves for Arsenal youth teams, with 28 goal involvements between them this season.
