Panathinaikos latest club interested in signing out-of-favour Sevilla striker Iheanacho

Greek giants Panathinaikos are interested in signing Nigerian striker Kelechi Iheanacho, who has struggled to make an impact at Sevilla, according to a report from Relevo via Mundo Deportivo.

The 28-year-old joined Sevilla on a free transfer in the summer, but has failed to score a single goal in the league, leading to speculation about his future at the club.

Sevilla are keen to offload Iheanacho, who has been a disappointment since his arrival. 

The club's coach, Xavier García Pimienta, has made it clear that Iheanacho is not in his plans, and the player's lack of form has raised questions about his suitability for the team.

Despite his struggles, Iheanacho remains a talented player with a proven track record in the Premier League. 

His experience and goal-scoring ability make him an attractive proposition for clubs looking to strengthen their attacking options.

Panathinaikos, who are currently competing in the Greek Super League, are believed to have made an inquiry about Iheanacho's availability. 

The Greek club is interested in signing the Nigerian striker on loan, but Sevilla are said to be preferring a permanent transfer or even terminating his contract.

Iheanacho's situation at Sevilla is complicated by his significant salary, which is reported to be over two million euros per season. 

The club is keen to get him off their books, but finding a suitable buyer or loan destination may prove challenging.
