Super Falcons-eligible player joins Ohale, Ihezuo at Pachuca; signs first pro deal
Published: January 24, 2025
Super Falcons-eligible player Ayooluwa Oke has officially signed her first professional contract with Mexican Liga MX Femenil club Pachuca Femenil.
The 21-year-old right-back or right-wing midfielder, who has represented the United States at the youth level, announced the news on her social media channels on Thursday, January 23.
Oke joined the Mexican club from NCAA Western Athletic Conference club University of California Los Angeles Bruins.
She teams up with Nigerian internationals Chinwendu Ihezuo and Osinachi Ohale at the Mexican club.
The versatile youngster was officially announced last week through the club's official website as their first foreign reinforcement for the Clausura 2025 season.
She was called up for Matchday 3 and eventually made her debut in Pachuca's 2-2 draw against Cruz Azul on Wednesday, January 15, at the Estadio Hidalgo.
Oke's debut numbers for Pachuca Femenil in the Liga MX Femenil were impressive, with one shot on goal, three crosses, and one ball recovered during her 28 minutes on the field.
The 21-year-old's versatility in both phases of the game was seemingly evident during her time with UCLA and UC Berkeley in the NCAA.
Having featured for the United States competitively at youth level, she would need to file a one-time change of association to FIFA in order to be eligible for a call-up to the Super Falcons.
The presence of Super Falcons stars Ihezuo and Ohale, could price crucial in convincing her to consider the nine-time African champions at senior level.
