Official: Former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams joins Sevilla subject to medical
Published: January 25, 2025
Former Flying Eagles striker Akor Adams has arrived in Seville, Spain, ahead of his proposed move to Sevilla FC, according to the club's official website.
The 24-year-old, who currently plays for Montpellier HSC in France, landed at Seville's San Pablo airport on Saturday afternoon, where he was greeted by Sevilla FC's sporting director, Victor Orta.
Adams' arrival in Seville marks a significant step towards completing his transfer to the La Liga club.
The Nigerian striker is expected to undergo a medical examination on Sunday, after which he will sign a contract with Sevilla FC that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2029.
As part of his introduction to the club, Adams will attend Sevilla FC's La Liga match against RCD Espanyol at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán stadium on Saturday evening.
The match, which kicks off at 18:30 hours local time, will provide Adams with a glimpse of his new team in action.
Adams' move to Sevilla FC will see him become the third Nigerian player to join the club in the 2024-2025 season, after Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho.
However, Iheanacho is reportedly on his way out of the Andalusian province, with several clubs linked with moves for the 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Ball winner.
The arrival of Adams is expected to boost Sevilla FC's attacking options, which have been depleted in recent weeks due to injuries and transfers.
His statistics this season are quite unimpressive, with three goals and three assists in sixteen appearances in all competitions for Montpellier.
