Official: After loan spells at BK Hacken and Odd, Ishaq Abdulrazak leaves Anderlecht for good
Published: January 27, 2025
Through official channels, Swedish Allsvenskan club IFK Värnamo have announced the signing of Nigerian central midfielder Ishaq Abdulrazak.
Abdulrazak has left Belgian Pro League giants Anderlecht on a permanent basis after back-to-back loan spells at
BK Häcken and Odds Ballklubb.
The Unity Academy product has now returned to Scandinavia, signing a three-year deal with IFK Värnamo, a contract the extends to the 2027 season.
Abdulrazak arrived at Anderlecht in 2022 with a reputation as one of the most promising young players in Swedish football but struggled for playing time at the Purple and White, leading to two different loan spells.
The last of his six appearances for Anderlecht was against Silkeborg IF in a UEFA Conference League clash in November 2022.
Having failed to break into the first team, he stayed in shape by playing for Anderlecht's reserves.
The former IFK Norrköping starlet has returned to the Allsvenskan and is expected to adapt easily, having previously made 63 appearances in the league, with two goals and six assists to his name.
Speaking on the signing of the versatile Nigerian midfielder, IFK Värnamo coach Robin Asterhed told Värnamo Nyheter:"We like that he is flexible, but we believe above all that he will be a good central midfielder.
"We may not see him as a right-back, but we think he can play as a more offensive pressing player as well. He could play as a right-winger".
IFK Värnamo finished fourteenth in the Swedish top division last season.
