Antwerp forward Udoh agrees four-and-a-half-year deal with Southampton; won't be loaned out
Published: February 03, 2025
Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that Royal Antwerp forward Victor Udoh has agreed a four-and-a-half-year contract with Southampton, with an official announcement on his transfer to the Premier League club expected in the coming hours.
Subject to a routine medical, Udoh will put pen to paper on a contract with Southampton valid until the end of the 2028-2029 season.
Given his age, 21 in October 2025, he is viewed as a first team signing, but he still needs to prove he has what it takes to stand alongside the senior players.
Udoh has appeared in 55 games since moving to Europe from Abuja-based academy Hypebuzz FC in 2023, including 24 matches in the Belgian top division.
The 20-year-old has tallied twelve goals in all competitions for the Antwerp teams, including braces against UR Namur, Olympic Charleroi and OH Leuven U23s in the 1ste Nationale.
Southampton have no plans to loan out the young forward before the close of the January transfer window.
Udoh links up with Nigeria internationals Joe Aribo and Paul Onuachu at Southampton, as well as Lesley Ugochukwu, the nephew of former Super Eagles defender Onyekachi Apam.
Derrick Abu, Romeo Akachukwu and Princewill Ehibhatiomhan play for Southampton U21s, while Zach Awe has been loaned out to League Two club Accrington Stanley for the entire season.
