Nottingham Forest locked in talks with Super Eagles star Ola Aina over new contract
Published: February 03, 2025
This season's Premier League surprise package, Nottingham Forest are locked in talks with one of their most important players, Ola Aina over a new contract, allnigeriasoccer.com understands.
The Nigeria international has entered the final five months of his contract at Nottingham Forest, meaning he can negotiate a pre-contract with a foreign club this month.
Besides interest from Turkish champions Galatasaray, Aina has been linked with a move to Manchester City as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker who has been loaned out to AC Milan for the remainder of the season.
The Chelsea academy graduate will not be leaving Nottingham Forest before the close of the January transfer window.
However, Aina's long-term future at Forest remains unresolved, with his representatives still in talks with the two-time European champions, but no agreement is in place as of now.
As things stand, the probability of him extending his stay at the City Ground is higher than that of him leaving as a free agent at the end of the season.
Aina has made a significant impact at Nottingham Forest since joining as a free agent in the summer of 2023, showcasing his versatility across the defence.
The 28-year-old has logged 46 appearances in the English top-flight as a Nottingham Forest player, registering three goals and producing two assists.
