Super Eagles forward leaves Nottingham Forest for Blackburn Rovers, subject to medical
Published: February 03, 2025
Blackburn Rovers have reached an agreement to sign Nigerian forward Emmanuel Dennis from Nottingham Forest, with the player now on his way for medical tests, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
The 27-year-old is set to join the Championship club on loan as Blackburn look to strengthen their attacking options for the remainder of the season.
The deal could include an option for a permanent transfer, depending on his performances and the club’s standing at the end of the campaign.
Dennis moved to Nottingham Forest in 2022 from Watford for a reported £20 million fee but struggled to cement his place in the squad.
After a promising spell with the Hornets, where he scored 10 Premier League goals in the 2021-22 season, his opportunities at Forest were limited.
He was loaned to Turkish side Istanbul Basaksehir for the 2023-24 season, where he also found playing time hard to come by.
Blackburn see Dennis as a valuable addition to their frontline and his ability to play across the attacking positions makes him an important asset for manager John Eustace as the club seeks to boost its promotion hopes.
The Nigerian international has represented his country on multiple occasions and will be looking to regain form at Ewood Park.
Regular playing time at Blackburn could provide him with the platform to showcase his abilities after struggling for consistency in recent seasons.
