'He'll stay with us' - AC Milan chief confirms Chukwueze is going nowhere amid links with Besiktas
Published: February 06, 2025
AC Milan director Geoffrey Moncada has commented on the future of Samuel Chukwueze, saying the Nigeria international will not be jumping ship during the January transfer window.
While the winter transfer market is closed for business in major European leagues, the windows are still open in countries like Turkey, Romania, Switzerland, Hungary and Serbia.
After a failed deadline day move to Premier League club Fulham, it is being discussed on social media that Super Lig club Besiktas could be the new destination for Chukwueze.
However, Geoffrey Moncada has made it clear that the transfer rumours were unfounded.
Speaking before AC Milan's Coppa Italia match against Roma on Wednesday, he told Sport Mediaset: "For Chukweze I can say that he will stay with us, he is another possibility on the right and we are happy.”
Fulham considered signing Chukwueze on deadline day in England but a deal did not happen and the Cottagers moved on to another target in the form of their former Brazilian player Willian.
AC Milan's signings of attack-minded trio Sergio Conceiçao, João Félix and Riccardo Sottil in the January transfer window will reduce the playing opportunities for the former Villarreal star.
The Nigeria international was an unused substitute as AC Milan defeated Roma 3-1 to advance to the semifinals of the Coppa Italia.
This season, Chukwueze has scored four goals and registered an assist in twenty-five matches across all competitions.
