Gift Orban continues red-hot form with crucial goal in Hoffenheim's 3-1 win over Werder Bremen
Published: February 16, 2025
Hoffenheim forward Gift Orban continued his impressive run of form with a crucial goal in his side’s 3-1 Bundesliga victory over Werder Bremen at the Weserstadion.
The Nigerian striker, who joined the club in the winter transfer window, has now scored three goals in his last four matches, playing a key role in Hoffenheim’s battle to avoid relegation.
After a difficult start to 2025, Hoffenheim arrived in Bremen desperate for points.
Their task became more challenging when Stanley Nsoki’s own goal put Werder ahead in the seventh minute.
However, Die Kraichgauer responded strongly, with Anton Stach leveling the score in the 28th minute before Tom Bischof completed the first-half turnaround with a composed finish.
Orban then sealed Hoffenheim’s victory just past the hour mark, rising at the far post to meet a well-placed cross and sending a precise header beyond goalkeeper Michael Zetterer.
The 22-year-old’s sharp movement and clinical finishing have quickly made him a key player for the team, which now sits seven points clear of the relegation zone.
This victory not only boosts Hoffenheim’s survival hopes but also highlights the growing importance of Orban in their offensive play.
His recent performances have been a welcome sight for fans, with the forward’s knack for finding the back of the net offering much-needed optimism for the rest of the season.
