20 days after completing transfer from Boavista, Onyemaechi makes winning debut for Olympiakos

Twenty days after completing his transfer from Portuguese club Boavista, Bruno Onyemaechi made his debut for Olympiakos in a 4-0 rout of Panserraikos during a Greek Super League encounter at Dimotiko Gipedo Serron on Sunday evening.
Onyemaechi put pen to paper on a three-and-half-year contract at Olympiakos in the January transfer window, with the Conference League holders beating Trabzonspor to his signature.
The Super Eagles left-back was not called up for the league meeting with APO Levadiakos on February 2, was not in the squad versus Panathinaikos in the Cup three days later, and was an unused substitute against Asteras Aktor.
Olympiakos manager José Luis Mendilibar made three changes in the 62nd minute, one of which saw Onyemaechi enter the game as a substitute to replace Francisco Ortega.
The Red and White were three goals up prior to the introduction of their Nigerian winter signing, thanks to a brace from Ayoub El Kaabi and Chiquinho's strike.
Gelson Martins added gloss to the scoreline with a fourth goal in the 75th minute.
Onyemaechi is in contention to make his European debut in the coming weeks as Olympiakos have included his name on the list of players registered for the knockout phase of the Europa League.
The eleven-cap Nigeria international has been assigned the number 70 for the remainder of the season at Olympiakos.
It is all but confirmed that he will be named in the Super Eagles' squad for the crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda's Wasps and Zimbabwe's Warriors in March.
