Published: March 14, 2025
Victor Osimhen fired a warning to Nigeria's opponents in the upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers Rwanda and Zimbabwe by netting a hat-trick for Galatasaray in a 4-0 victory over Antalyaspor at Rams Park on Friday evening.
The Nigerian international opened the scoring 30 minutes into the match before teammate Alvaro Morata doubled the lead from the penalty spot.
Just before halftime, Osimhen struck again, ensuring Galatasaray went into the break with a comfortable advantage.
He completed his hat-trick seven minutes into the second half, bringing his season tally to an impressive 31 goal contributions—26 goals and five assists in 30 appearances across all competitions.
Osimhen’s remarkable form has not gone unnoticed, with several top European clubs reportedly monitoring his progress ahead of the summer transfer window.
Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are among the teams linked with a move for the 26-year-old striker, who continues to attract significant interest.
In addition to his club exploits, Osimhen has been named in the 23-man squad for Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
Super Eagles manager Eric Chelle will be hoping that the prolific forward maintains his scoring streak to help Nigeria secure vital victories and boost their chances of qualifying for the tournament in the USA, Canada, and Mexico.
With Osimhen in top form, both Galatasaray and Nigeria will be counting on his goal-scoring prowess in their upcoming fixtures.
