Ireland squads: Umeh brothers, Southampton and Watford starlets among 10 Nigerians called up

The Football Association of Ireland has named the national team rosters before the international games in March 2025 and ten Nigeria-eligible players have been selected.
Ireland U21s head coach Jim Crawford has picked Crystal Palace forward Franco Umeh, Sheffield Wednesday defender Gabriel Otegbayo and Walsall's David Okagbue in a 23-man squad for two international friendlies.
The young Boys in Green will take on Scotland at the Pinatar Arena in Spain on March 21 and then face Hungary at the same venue on Monday, March 24.
Michael Dike, Romeo Akachukwu, Nickson Okosun and Ike Orazi are with the Republic of Ireland U19 squad for the Elite Round of the European Championship qualifiers.
The U19s are heading to Germany for matches against Finland (March 19, Wednesday), Slovenia (March 22), and Germany (March 25).
Benfica youth teamer Jaden Umeh, younger brother of Franco Umeh, is joined on the U17 roster by two other teenagers of Nigerian descent in the shape of Ade Solanke and Charles Akinrintayo.
The Irish-Nigerian trio are in contention earn youth team caps in matches against Belgium (Wednesday, March 19th), Poland (Saturday, March 22nd), and Iceland (Tuesday, March 25th).
