Ola Aina reaches career-high market value of N33.6b as Nottingham Forest deal nears end
Published: March 19, 2025
Ola Aina has reached a career-high market value despite the Nigeria international having approximately three months left on his contract with this season's Premier League surprise package Nottingham Forest.
Transfer market and statistics website Transfermarkt updated the market value of Premier League players on Tuesday, March 18, with the Chelsea academy graduate now valued at 20 million euros (approximately N33.6 billion in Nigerian currency).
Before the recent update, Ola Aina's market value stood at fourteen million euros in December 2024.
His defensive qualities have been on full display throughout the season, with the right back winning possession in the defensive third more than any other player in the top five European leagues.
After joining Nottingham Forest on a free transfer in the summer of 2023, he has featured in 52 Premier League matches, contributing three goals and two assists.
The two-time European champions are trying to tie him down to a new deal but with nothing signed yet, speculation over his long-term future at the City Ground continues.
Manchester City are interested in the 28-year-old although they have not submitted an offer, while Turkish champions Galatasaray have also been credited with an interest.
Primarily a right-back, he has featured on the left and as a wingback for Nottingham Forest.
Ola Aina is the ninth most valuable Nottingham Forest player and ranked six among Nigerian players.
