'Top player' - Pundit reveals Barcelona-linked forward Lookman would be a great signing for Napoli
Published: March 27, 2025
Italian pundit Raffaele Mignano believes that Ademola Lookman would be a good signing for Napoli.
Lookman is one of the forwards being targeted by top European clubs due to his outstanding performances for Atalanta, for whom he has registered 72 goal involvements (50 goals, 22 assists) in 110 all-competition appearances.
Spanish giants Barcelona, who are in the market for a top-level winger to bolster the flank, have recently been linked with a possible move for the reigning African Footballer of the Year.
However, he is not the only forward being targeted by the Blaugrana as Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams, AC Milan's Rafael Leao and Liverpool's Luis Díaz are also on the club's radar.
Apart from the interest from Barcelona and Napoli, Premier League and Ligue 1 clubs are also monitoring the situation of the Charlton Athletic academy graduate, who comes off contract with Atalanta at the end of next season.
Raffaele Mignano has fueled speculation about Napoli's potential interest in Ademola Lookman.
Speaking on Napoli Magazine Live, Mignano hinted at discussions involving the Nigerian winger, possibly spearheaded by Napoli sporting director Giovanni Manna.
With Napoli aiming to strengthen their squad for both domestic and European competitions, Lookman could be a significant addition.
"Are there talks of Ademola Lookman for Napoli followed by Manna?" Raffaele Mignano wa quoted as saying by Area Napoli.
"He is a top player, he would be a great purchase for Napoli also in view of the Champions League . He is a player who makes the difference".
Lookman was in action for Nigeria during the international break, starting the 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe.
