Noah Atubolu: Arsenal-linked goalkeeper reaches career-high market value of N25 billion
Published: March 27, 2025
Football statistics and transfer market website, Transfermarkt has updated the market value of German Bundesliga players, with Super Eagles-eligible goalkeeper Noah Atubolu getting an upgrade following his outstanding performances for SC Freiburg in the ongoing season.
By posting a clean sheet during Freiburg's goalless draw against RB Leipzig on Saturday, March 8 at the Europa-Park Stadion, Atubolu became the first Freiburg goalkeeper to go 510 minutes without conceding a goal, breaking the previous record held by club legend Richard Golz set in the 2001-2002 season.
His performances have not gone unnoticed as he is being linked with a move to Premier League giants Arsenal, who are planning to recruit a new backup for David Raya this summer, TBR reported nine days ago.
Atubolu impressively saved four consecutive penalties for Freiburg this season, equaling a record set by former Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno in Germany.
The 22-year-old has reached his highest market value to date, with Transfermarkt valuing him at 15 million euros (approximately N25 billion in Nigerian currency).
Atubolu's valuation had remained at ten million euros since May 29, 2024, until Thursday's update, which saw a rise of five million euros.
Among Freiburg's squad, the German-born shot-stopper is the second most valuable player, trailing only Japan's Ritsu Doan, and has been ranked as the 35th most expensive goalkeeper in the world.
Since making his senior debut in the 2022-2023 season, the dual-national goalkeeper has posted 26 clean sheets while conceding 106 goals in 72 all-competition appearances.
