Fiorentina v Atalanta: Lookman aims to equal 5,103-day Serie A record held by ex-AC Milan striker
Published: March 27, 2025
Ademola Lookman will have the chance to match a long-standing Serie A record when Atalanta face Fiorentina.
The Nigerian forward has scored in all four of his previous league appearances against the Viola, tallying four goals and providing two assists.
Another goal in their upcoming clash would see him equal Alexandre Pato’s record of scoring in his first five Serie A games against Fiorentina, according to Opta, via Calcio Atalanta.
Pato, the former AC Milan striker, set the benchmark on April 10, 2011 and no player has matched his feat in the three-points-per-win era.
The Brazilian, amassed six goal contributions (five goals and one assist) in seven Serie A games against Fiorentina, a record that will have remained unbroken for 5,103 days by Sunday, March 30.
Lookman’s consistency against Fiorentina makes him one of their most dangerous opponents, with Opta confirming that he has been involved in six goals in four meetings.
The 27-year-old has also enjoyed similar success against Empoli, registering five goals and one assist in his league encounters with them.
However, Fiorentina remains a special opponent for Lookman, who has found the net every time he has faced them in Serie A.
As Atalanta push for a top-four finish, Lookman’s attacking contributions will be crucial.
If he can extend his scoring streak against Fiorentina, he will not only bolster his team’s chances but also etch his name alongside Pato in Serie A history.
