'Unbelievable moment' - Dessers happy to score stoppage-time winner in milestone game for Rangers

Cyriel Dessers was the hero for Rangers in their dramatic 4-3 victory over Dundee at Dens Park, scoring a last-minute winner to mark his 100th appearance for the club in style.
The Nigerian striker’s stoppage-time goal completed an incredible comeback after Rangers had trailed 2-0 and 3-1 during the match.
After Dundee took a 2-0 lead, Rangers fought back, with James Tavernier’s deflected cross resulting in an own goal by Dundee’s Joe Shaughnessy. Dessers thought he had equalized early in the second half, but his goal was ruled out for offside. Dundee extended their lead to 3-1, but Rangers responded with two goals from Tavernier and Tom Lawrence to level the score.
With the game winding down, it was Dessers who would prove to be the difference, finding the back of the net in injury time to secure the win.
Speaking to Rangers TV after the match, Dessers shared his delight at scoring such a significant goal in his milestone appearance.
"It was very nice to score so late, but the 90 minutes before that were not that nice. At the end, if you can score like that in your 100th game, it is a very nice feeling," he said.
The goal came from a well-placed cross by Tavernier, which Dessers expertly controlled with his chest before calmly slipping the ball past the Dundee goalkeeper.
Dessers praised Tavernier’s quality in delivering such a perfect assist, adding, "I know Tav and his qualities and he can give these balls, and I think it got carried a little bit by the wind.
"The defender could only get a touch, and I had good control on my chest and then slipped it past the keeper."
Reflecting on the dramatic nature of the match, Dessers described his stoppage-time goal as "an unbelievable moment, scoring an injury time winner."
With his 45th goal in 100 appearances for Rangers, Dessers’ performance was a fitting tribute to his milestone achievement, and his late heroics ensured that Rangers secured all three points in a thrilling encounter.
