After complaint by Slavia coach, Igoh Ogbu becomes most expensive Nigerian right-footed CB

Football statistics and transfer market website Transfermarkt has updated the market value of players in the Czech Republic, with 2025 Super Eagles invitee Igoh Ogbu reaching a career high market value.
The former Nigeria U20 international is now valued at ten million euros, making him the most valuable Nigerian right-footed central defender, ahead of Wolfsberger AC's Chibuike Nwaiwu who is rated at three million euros.
Fulham's Calvin Bassey, who is left-footed, remains the most expensive Nigerian centre-back, with a valuation of 25 million euros.
Ogbu has reached a career-high market value sixteen days after Slavia Prague coach Jindřich Trpisovsky highlighted that the number 5 was undervalued by transfer market experts.
"He is extremely important for us and his performances definitely exceed his current price tag," he stated last month.
"If he played in a foreign league, his value would be much higher. He has become a complete player."
Ogbu has seen his stock rise after receiving his first-ever call-up to the Super Eagles for back-to-back 2026 World Cup qualifying matches against Rwanda and Zimbabwe, though he was an unused substitute in both games.
Prior to the latest update on Tuesday, April 1, the former Lillestrom man was valued at eight million euros.
Represented by Oslo and Malaga-based Nigerian agent, Atta Aneke, Ogbu is destined for a big move in the near future as his agent has close ties to Spanish La Liga, French Ligue 1, English Premier League and German Bundesliga clubs.
