KAA Gent locked in talks with Super Eagles central defender over new contract

KAA Gent are locked in talks with Nigeria international central defender Jordan Torunarigha about a new contract.
The former Germany U23 international has entered the last three months of his contract with The Buffalos and could be departing the club on a free transfer at the end of the season.
According to Het Laatste Nieuws, via Voetbalnieuws, Torunarigha may look for a new team in the summer.
KAA Gent and the left-footed central defender have not yet reached an agreement on a new deal, although negotiations are ongoing.
Despite speculation about the future of the Super Eagles player, he remains a key player for Gent, with 35 appearances under his belt so far this season.
In the January transfer window, he was linked with a transfer to Gent's Jupiler Pro League rivals, RSC Anderlecht but nothing came out of it.
The Hertha Berlin academy graduate was previously linked with moves to Torino, Crystal Palace, Leeds United, and Hoffenheim, but stayed put at Gent last summer.
Torunarigha was handed a late call-up to the Nigeria squad for their March internationals against Rwanda's Wasps and Zimbabwe's Warriors but was an unused substitute in both games.
After switching his international allegiance from Germany to Nigeria, he has yet to make his competitive debut for the three-time African champions.
The 27-year-old has four goals and six assists in 139 matches for Gent.
