'It's not right' - Pundit warns Galatasaray not to break the bank to sign Victor Osimhen
Published: April 12, 2025
Cem Dizdar, a prominent commentator for HT Sports, has expressed concerns over Galatasaray's potential move to secure Victor Osimhen on a permanent basis.
Osimhen is currently on loan at the Turkish club from Napoli, and discussions are ongoing about a possible transfer.
Dizdar argued that Osimhen does not rank among the top five centre-forwards in Europe, casting doubt on the wisdom of making the move permanent for a significant fee.
He emphasized that Turkish football does not generate the same financial resources as clubs in other top European leagues, suggesting that such a high investment could be unfair in terms of competitive balance.
According to Dizdar, while hefty sums are common in the football transfer market, even Premier League clubs are struggling to meet such demands.
"I don't think Victor Osimhen is one of the top five centre-forwards in Europe. It's not right to spend so much money on Osimhen," HT Sports commentator Cem Dizdar was quoted as saying by habersarikirmizi.com.
"This country's football doesn't produce that much money. It's unfair in terms of competition.
"This money and figures come easily to everyone. Even Premier League clubs are having trouble paying transfer fees today."
The comments reflect wider concerns about the sustainability of large-scale transfers in Turkish football, especially considering the financial challenges many clubs face.
As Galatasaray continues to explore the possibility of securing Osimhen permanently, these warnings from pundits could influence the club’s decision-making process as they weigh the risks and rewards of the potential deal.
Despite the skepticism surrounding the possible permanent move, Osimhen’s impact during his loan spell at Galatasaray has been evident, and discussions about his future at the club remain high-profile.
However, whether his loan will become a permanent transfer at Galatasaray is still uncertain, with critics urging caution in the face of the reported transfer fees.
