'Nobody talks about his salary' - Ex-Besiktas midfielder insists Osimhen deserves his N18b-N27b earnings
Published: April 17, 2025
Former Besiktas midfielder Sinan Engin has praised Victor Osimhen’s value in the transfer market, insisting the Nigerian striker is worth every kobo of his reported €10–15 million (approximately N18 billion to N27 billion) annual earnings.
Speaking on Ekol TV, Engin addressed ongoing speculation surrounding Osimhen’s future and his potential impact on Turkish football.
“Osimhen is not getting 9 million euros, he is getting 10–15 million euros with bonuses,” Engin said, via habersarikirmizi.com.
"He wouldn't be happy if he wasn't getting that much money. Nobody talks about Osimhen's money because he deserves it."
Engin's remarks come amid reports linking the Napoli forward with a move to Galatasaray.
He drew a stark comparison between Osimhen and other top strikers, suggesting that even players like Ciro Immobile, who reportedly earns similar wages, fall short in terms of quality.
"Immobile gets a salary of 10 million euros, he is not better than Osimhen or Morata,” he stated.
Turning his attention to Fenerbahçe, Engin criticized their attacking options, dismissing the credentials of current forwards Youssef En-Nesyri and Edin Dzeko.
"I don't think En-Nesyri and Dzeko are Fenerbahçe's center forwards," he said.
"In my eyes, En-Nesyri cannot be Fenerbahçe's center forward even if he scores 40 goals."
Engin argued that Osimhen’s presence in the Fenerbahçe squad would have significantly boosted their title challenge.
"If Osimhen was at Fenerbahçe, they would be 8 points ahead anyway," he concluded.
Osimhen has tallied 29 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions for Galatasaray and has produced six assists.
