Nigeria international GK named in Premiere Ligue Team of the Season amid Everton links
Published: April 26, 2025
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named in the French Première Ligue Team of the Season following another outstanding campaign with Paris FC.
The 24-year-old’s recognition comes amid speculation linking her with a summer move to Women's Super League side Everton.
According to Score Nigeria, it is claimed that Nnadozie has agreed to join Everton, where she would link up with fellow Super Falcons star Toni Payne.
If the deal goes through, it would mark the end of a successful five-year spell at Paris FC, where she made 96 appearances in the French top-flight after her move from Rivers Angels in 2020.
During her time in France, Nnadozie has firmly established herself among Europe's elite goalkeepers.
She was named the best goalkeeper in the Arkema Première Ligue last season, beating out Olympic Lyon’s Christiane Endler and Paris Saint-Germain’s Katarzyna Kiedrzynek.
She also made history as the first African and Nigerian to win the National Union of Professional Footballers award for best goalkeeper in the French women’s top-flight.
This season, Nnadozie remains in contention to defend her crown, with Paris Saint-Germain’s Mary Earps and Olympic Lyon’s Endler also nominated.
Sources close to the negotiations disclosed that Nnadozie had attracted attention from several top European clubs before opting for Everton, where she is expected to continue her rapid rise on the global stage.
Her performances have also earned her back-to-back CAF Awards for Best Goalkeeper over the last two years, further cementing her status as the top goalkeeper on the continent.
As she prepares to leave Paris FC, her inclusion in the Arkema Première Ligue Team of the Season is a fitting recognition of her impact in French football.
