Joseph Olowu: Arsenal youth product in talks with Doncaster Rovers over new deal
Published: May 07, 2025
Following the conclusion of the 2024-2025 League Two season, Doncaster Rovers have announced their retained and released list.
Five players, including Arsenal's Hale End Academy graduate Joseph Olowu, are in discussions with Doncaster Rovers over a new contract.
The remaining four players are Tom Anderson, Bobby Faulkner, Ian Lawlor and Billy Sharp.
Olowu has been playing for Doncaster Rovers since 2021 after he was let go by Arsenal, where he spent thirteen years.
The Ibadan-born central defender has been offered fresh terms after an outstanding season at Doncaster Rovers, winning the club's Player of the Year at the Star Football Awards.
Olowu's deal with Doncaster Rovers is nearing its end, sparking rumors about what lies ahead for the defender.
The 25-year-old could walk away as a free agent upon the expiration of his current contract on June 30, 2025.
Following a season-ending injury, Olowu was sidelined for Doncaster Rovers' last eleven league games.
Since joining Rovers, he has featured in 144 matches across all competitions for the League Two champions, and has directly participated in thirteen goals.
Meanwhile, Kenneth Imariagbe is among the scholars leaving Doncaster Rovers ahead of the start of pre-season preparations.
