'Fantastic for the academy' - Maresca lauds George and Chelsea rising stars after win v Djurgarden

Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has heaped praise on rising star Tyrique George and other academy talents following their 1-0 victory over Swedish side Djurgarden in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday night.
The Blues fielded a change side with a blend of academy players for the European night.
However, George, who was leading the line, played a key role in the match-winning goal.
The 19-year-old forward delivered a composed performance and assisted Kevin Dewsbury-Hall's decisive strike, further underlining his growing importance within the squad.
George, recently named Chelsea's Men's Academy Player of the Season, completed the full 90 minutes and impressed with his creativity and composure.
He created one big chance, registered one shot on target, completed a successful dribble, had a 92% pass accuracy, and made two key passes — showcasing his maturity beyond his years.
After the game, Maresca lauded the impact of George and his fellow academy graduates, calling the moment "fantastic for the academy, for Chelsea, and the fans."
"We finished with Reggie [born in] '08, Genesis [Antwi] and Shimmy [Mheuka] '07, and Josh [Acheampong] and Tyrique [George] '06," Enzo Maresca was quoted as saying by Chelsea's official website.
He highlighted the significance of giving young players such opportunities, noting the club's commitment to nurturing future stars.
"It's fantastic for the academy, for Chelsea, and the fans because the future can be important."
Chelsea began the match with George, Acheampong, and Reggie Walsh while Antwi and Mheuka made substitute appearances in the second half.
George has now made 12 Conference League appearances this season, scoring once and assisting twice, and continues to stake his claim for a more prominent first-team role next campaign.
