End of the road: Luton Town part ways with Chelsea alum and 2013 Afcon winner Victor Moses
Published: May 10, 2025
With a statement on their official website, Luton Town confirmed their retained and released list following the conclusion of the 2024–25 season, which saw them relegated to the third tier of English football.
Chelsea old boy Victor Moses is in search of a new club ahead of the summer transfer window, with Luton Town confirming on Friday that the versatile winger is among the players released.
Moses played a vital role in Chelsea's last Premier League title-winning side, contributing six goal involvements in 34 league appearances while excelling in a new wing-back role under Antonio Conte during the 2016–17 season.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner returned to English football last September, joining Luton Town on a free transfer after running out of contract at Spartak Moscow.
All signs pointed to his impending exit, with the player frozen out of the squad during the second half of the season and deemed surplus to requirements.
Moses was not called up for the final nineteen games played by the Hatters in the Championship.
Overall, the former Liverpool, Inter Milan and Fenerbahce man made eighteen appearances for Luton Town, scoring one goal while logging 1,135 minutes.
Meanwhile, tri-national forward Aribim Pepple, who is eligible for Nigeria, Canada and England, will return to Kenilworth Road at the end of June, when his loan deal with Chesterfield expires.
The 22-year-old previously had loan spells at Grimsby Town, Bromley, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Southend United.
