Crystal Palace loanee on NFF's radar wins EFL League Two Golden Glove award
Published: May 10, 2025
Crystal Palace loanee Owen Goodman has won the League Two Golden Glove Award for the 2024-2025 season.
Born in London, the goalkeeper qualifies to play internationally for Nigeria, England and Canada.
Goodman has already caught the attention of the Nigeria Football Federation, having received a call-up to the Flying Eagles' training camp prior to the 2023 U20 Africa Cup of Nations.
No goalkeeper in League Two kept more clean sheets than the tri-national player in the 2024-2025 season, a feat he shares with Colchester United's Matt Macey.
The AFC Wimbledon number one posted twenty-one clean sheets in 45 appearances in the fourth tier of English football over the course of the 2024-2025 season.
Goodman also posted a clean sheet in the first round of the Emirates FA Cup as AFC Wimbledon defeated MK Dons 2-0.
The Palace-owned shot-stopper originally targeted 15 clean sheets but exceeded that milestone early in 2025, eventually recording 22 shutouts across all competitions.
Speaking to the club's official website, Goodman revealed: " I had goals that I set for myself at the start of the season. I achieved those goals – I achieved them quite early to be honest.
"I wanted to get 15 clean sheets and I achieved that very early in 2025. Now I’ve been able to get to 22 in all competitions and I’m really proud of what I’ve been able to achieve this season.
"I’ve worked really hard and put the hours into showing a lot of people what I’m about."
Goodman is expected to start in goal on Saturday night when Wimbledon take on Notts County in the League Two play-off semifinal at Meadow Lane.
