Rangers striker Dessers equals personal record for goals in a single season at Hibernian

Cyriel Dessers equaled a personal record from 2017 as Rangers and Hibernian shared the spoils with a 2-2 draw on Saturday afternoon in their final game of the 2024-2025 Scottish Premiership season, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.

Two minutes into the contest at Easter Road, Hibs goalkeeper Jordan Smith's clearance was headed right back by Nicolas Raskin to an unmarked Cyriel Dessers, who struck on the turn to find the net.

The goal took Dessers' tally for the season to 29 in all competitions, comprising eighteen in the Premiership, four in the League Cup, three each in the Europa League and SFA Cup, and one in the third round of the Champions League qualifiers.

The 30-year-old equaled his best tally in a single campaign, which he achieved during the 2016-2017 season wearing the colours of Dutch club NAC Breda.

While it took 55 games for Dessers to net 29 goals this season, he achieved that same total in only 40 matches back on May 28, 2017.

Kieron Bowie equalized after Dessers' opener, sending both sides into halftime tied at 1-1.

Four minutes into the second half, Nicolas Raskin met a whipped corner at the front post with a faint touch that steered the ball into the net and restored Rangers' one-goal advantage.

The Light Blues were denied all three points in the 66th minute when Martin Boyle levelled matters with a header.

Dessers is currently the Scottish Premiership’s top scorer with 18 goals, edging out Daizen Maeda and Simon Murray by two in the battle for the Golden Boot.
