After signing Argentina shot-stopper, Crystal Palace set to loan out 2023 Flying Eagles invitee

Premier League side Crystal Palace are on the brink of finalising a loan move for young goalkeeper Owen Goodman to League One outfit Huddersfield Town, according to Football Insider.

The 21-year-old, who was called up to a Flying Eagles training camp in 2023, is back at Crystal Palace following a successful loan spell at AFC Wimbledon, where he played a key role in their promotion to the third tier via the playoffs.

Goodman kept an impressive 25 clean sheets in 53 appearances across all competitions during the 2024–25 season.

Eligible to represent England, Canada, and Nigeria, the highly rated tri-national shot-stopper attracted interest from several Football League clubs, including Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers, AFC Wimbledon and Huddersfield.

The Terriers have won the race for his signature, with a medical expected to take place this week ahead of official confirmation.

Despite back-to-back loan spells at Colchester United and AFC Wimbledon, Goodman has slipped down the pecking order at Selhurst Park.

On Monday, Palace announced the signing of Argentina international Walter Benítez from PSV Eindhoven, with the deal to take effect on July 1 upon the expiry of his contract.

Goodman, a Palace academy graduate, has made the bench for four Premier League fixtures but is yet to make his senior debut for the club.
