Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that the possibility of Nigerian forward Philip Otele leaving FC Basel has not been entirely ruled out despite signing a full deal with the Swiss champions earlier this month.
Otele made the switch from Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates to FC Basel during the January transfer window and wasted no time making an impact.
The forward recorded 14 goal involvements—netting nine goals and providing five assists—in 21 appearances across all competitions, playing a pivotal role in Basel's campaign as they clinched a domestic double.
FC Basel are keen to retain the core of their squad as they set their sights on reaching the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.
However, the Swiss giants could consider cashing in on the Nigerian forward if a suitable offer arrives and they fall short of qualifying for the competition proper.
Otele has been offered to Premier League sides Fulham, Burnley and Brentford, while Championship club Sheffield United are also mulling over a move for the former Romanian Liga 1 top scorer.
The 26-year-old forward is additionally on the radar of Bundesliga duo Borussia Mönchengladbach and Augsburg, who are both in the market for attacking reinforcements this summer.
Otele is under contract with FC Basel until the end of the 2027–28 season.
