N362,000 per day: Boniface trains at elite Spanish camp used by new Real Madrid star
Published: June 27, 2025
Super Eagles striker Victor Boniface has kicked off an intensive off-season training program at the Marbella Football Center in Spain as he looks to reignite his career ahead of the 2025/2026 season.
The Nigerian forward, who endured a challenging campaign marred by injuries and loss of form, is investing in his fitness and development at one of Spain's most elite sports facilities.
The Marbella Football Center is renowned for attracting top-level athletes, including Real Madrid's new signing Trent Alexander-Arnold.
According to the German outlet Bild, training at the center costs approximately €200 per day, which translates to over ₦362,000 per day.
Boniface is eager to return to top form and impress the newly appointed Bayer Leverkusen manager, Erik ten Hag, who joined after a challenging stint at Manchester United.
The striker fell the pecking order last season, with Czech forward Patrik Schick emerging as Xabi Alonso's preferred option before Alonso's departure.
The situation sparked uncertainty around his future, with the Nigerian international reportedly considering a move away from the Bundesliga.
He was linked with Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr, who showed interest in signing him during the January transfer window before eventually opting for Jhon Durán.
His training program in Marbella reportedly includes high-intensity drills aimed at improving fitness, technical skills, and tactical awareness — all designed to help him make a strong case during Leverkusen's pre-season, which begins in July.
With the upcoming campaign expected to be crucial for his club ambitions, Boniface's dedication in the off-season may be exactly what he needs to bounce back and cement his place both at Leverkusen.
