Official: FC Copenhagen sell Turkish 1. Lig's top assister Paul Mukairu to Pogon Szczecin
Published: July 02, 2025
With a statement on the official website, Danish Superliga champions FC Copenhagen have announced that they have ended their association with Paul Mukairu following his sale to Polish outfit Pogoń Szczecin.
The Nigerian forward joined FC Copenhagen in the summer of 2023 and managed to play 25 games for the club.
Mukairu has been sold six months before the expiration of his contract with FC Copenhagen.
The 25-year-old is moving on to pastures new after a breakout season at loan club Boluspor, where he registered seven goals and fourteen assists in 34 appearances in the Turkish 1.Lig over the course of the 2024-2025 campaign.
His tally of 14 assists was the highest in the division last season, edging out Kocaelispor's Ryan Mendes by one and finishing two clear of Istanbulspor's Florian Loshaj.
Mukairu has joined Pogoń Szczecin on a two-year deal, with a club option for the 2027-2028 season.
In his first words as a player of Pogoń Szczecin, the former Anderlecht, Antalyaspor and Reading player said to the club's official website: " I am very happy to be here.
"After talking to the President, the coach and other people from the club, I decided that this would be an interesting step in my career.
"I know that the club wants to do something historic, and it is always good to be a part of something like that."
For the forthcoming season, Mukairu has been assigned the number 18 shirt at Pogoń Szczecin.
